I really wanted to like this place. The outdoor seating seemed so inviting, and the staff was really nice. But it was honestly just bar food, and expensive bar food at that. I got a black and bleu burger which came with buns, meat, bleu cheese, and a piece of lettuce - 7.50. They asked if I wanted fries, chips, or another side, and I opted for fries thinking it came with the entree, but when I looked at the bill, they were an extra 2.00. My husband's cherry salad was pretty much iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and some dried cherries. Not a good meal or deal.

Interesting mix of Mex and American and pizza. Food was great. Mex was good with some heat. Girls had pizza and liked it. Service was friendly and efficient.

I love this place! Everytime I have gone here the food has been great and the service fantastic. I have eaten both dinner and breakfast here and both are very good. I have been able to get chocolate chip pancakes even though they aren't on the menu and they are some of the best I have ever had. The Tex-Mex food is really good and the pizza is some of the best in the area. The staff is very friendly and accomadating (they don't mind if you make substitutions or ask that something be left off). All in all this is one of the best restraunts in the area.

Good meal and service. My wife had whitefish and it was excellent. I had chicken enchiladas and they were pretty good.

Disappointed to visit here on October 12 and they are already out of Ocktoberfest glasses...waitress says they sold out in 3 days. Really? Then you should order more! Very poor planning. Food ok, would have liked our annual beer glass.

The address on the website is wrong. Gps took me to a house address. The real restaurant is kiddie corner from 5/3 bank. Burgers were superb. The veggie burger was from Redheads restaurant that is located close by. Unenthusiastic wait staff.

I am a local and this is THE place. There may be a short wait for a table, but it is well worth it. Otherwise, why would there be a wait? Every single time I order a burger here, it comes out perfectly cooked to my specifications. This place knows what medium rare is! I have eaten several items here and have never been disappointed. From the HUGE cobb salad, bistro steak, soups, nachos, and an amazing Sunday breakfast buffet to the insanely awesome nightly specials, like prime rib, whitefish, halibut, grouper (that is encrusted in cashews...um HELLO?!? YUM!!!) Hosts make sure you are greeted immediately. Servers are attentive. This place gets insanely busy some nights so plan on having a beer at the bar until your table is ready, or call ahead for reservations. Awesome outdoor patio (with heaters for those brave enough to withstand the cooler evenings) with full service, several tables and a bar. Just wish the bar faced the street so I could watch passerbys. Great and reasonable prices. I have never been here and not seen the owner waiting, hosting, bartending, and joyfully engaging with the customers. To me, this makes a huge difference for business. The only downfall to this historical restaurant is that the owners need to put an apartment upstairs for times when I'm having too much fun and don't want to leave!

We love this place, the Villager burger is amazing... I even will go as far as saying the BEST burger I have ever had! Great bloody marys and all kinds of infused rum, tequila and vodka for there signature drinks. The popcorn perch is a must for an app, plus a large room with video games for the kids

Pretty happy with this place. Great, reasonably priced menu with a wide variety of options and excellent service. Plus a wonderful patio. They have salads, sandwiches, burgers, entrees and pizzas! Went with a group of 5 and we sampled a bit of everything. Burgers, sandwiches, salads and pizza. What really sold me was the service. Our server was amazingly nice. Additionally, when bringing out the pizza the spatula and fell and a piece hit the floor. She comped us for the entire pizza. Not necessary since it was huge, my brother couldn't even finish it (and he can eat!) I would recommend this place to anyone.

VI Grill was great!! My wife and I had breakfast there on Saturday morning. We got a seat at the outdoor bar since the patio was full and had a wait. Both my wife and I started out with Bloody Mary's which were Great!!! I had a Breakfast Burrito which was chuck full of goodness and had melted cheese on top of it. My wife had the Sunrise Fajitas which were really good as well. Everything was really well priced and the service was fast and friendly. We will be going back on our next trip to Suttons Bay,

We stopped here for a quick lunch before kayaking Suttons Bay. What lured my wife and I in was their special which was posted outside the main door. The special was bluegill sandwich with fries...I have a weakness for bluegill. I also have a weakness for bloody Mary's. They have a $9 Bloody Mary which got me really excited....$9 bucks...it has to be out of this world. Well the Bloody was about 10 oz....it came in a mason jar type glass...but was full with ice...not much room for the goods. For $9 I expected a lot more...unless I was in Chicago. The bluegill sandwich came with two tiny pieces....booooooo! It was like a bluegill slider...it needed about 5 pieces to be worthy. The service was slow as well.

Excellent lunch yesterday.. We rolled down via boat from Harbor Springs and picked the VI Grill due to the excellent reviews. Service was excellent, great waitress with a fun sense of humor, hard working manager on the floor too. Fish sandwiches, both kinds of fries, and we were happy. All the food we saw go by looked good as well. Give it a try !!

Standard bar fried food, worse whitefish preparation...deep fried with a batter from Gordon's or Sysco's Food Service, D-. Chef in need of updating preparation and creativity. Good burgers and fried onion rings: typical bar fare. Lovely wait staff and service, very accompdating.

We just ate at the VI Grill in Suttons Bay. We had a great experience. They were very full so we sat at the bar and Becky was our server. She was excellent! We had pizza which was freshly prepared and some of the best pizza we've ever had! They have lots of craft beers as well. We would recommend the VI grill to anyone!

Great place- excellent food, attentive staff, and pleasant atmosphere. We stop by at least once every summer for the white cheddar & caramelized onion burger. A slight problem with the meal yesterday was fixed in an instant by our wonderful server Sarah R.

Slow service but not because it was busy. 50% capacity maybe, Monday 1pm. Plenty of servers, slow food delivery. Small portions and cold food. Had to ask for water and pop refills. Just passing through, Yelp reviews brought us in but would not choose to come back.

We come here every summer and always enjoy it. They have great burgers and over 20 draft beer selections. The inside "bar" area is kid friendly and cozy. They also have a great outdoor patio with a stone fireplace. Definitely stop here if you can.

Super fun place to go for lunch or dinner. The food is great, the bar options are many, and the staff are phenomenal. Lots of Suttons Bay history on the walls, this is a terrific place to go for a taste of Leelanau County.

This place has a great selection of beers and their cherry BBQ sauce might be too sweet for some but I loved it. Great patio with live music sometimes. Well priced for what you get.

we had some friends in town so were excited to sit out on the patio and have a drink and some dinner, however the bartender, as he has been in the past, was rude with his engagement with us stating that "just so you know this is the service area," pointing to the left side of the bar where servers could come around and get their drinks for other customers. This was not stated in any sort of friendly sort of manner but more as, "hey, get out of the way,"attitude, without even trying to be friendly. my husband and I were horribly embarrassed that this happened. As I mentioned this has happened to us before there by that same bartender. He then wanted to argue about how long it was going to take for us to get a table, and acted like he didn't even want us there at the bar. This was noticed not only by me and my husband in the past but also by every member of our party that night. There were six of us. We don't usually make a big deal about stuff like this, but this is becoming a recurrent scenario with him. so we left and went to Streetside Grill, which was much more friendly and had much better service with better food and drink options.

Good service, a good place to stop in for lunch , sports tv on , and music to entertain

Great little place. We have gone here 2x now and love it. I get the black bean burger with avocado which is outstanding. The drinks are good as well. They have a perch app that is pretty amazing as well. They loose a star because service is a bit slow.

Great food and the staff is outstanding. The crowd was good and also having fun, so the noise was up. TV to keep the sports in your view the hole time. The best part the fruit flies seem to be kept under control, this is not the case in other places. Nice selection of Beers, locale wines and the Cherry Vodka lemonade was the hit of the night. Eat well and live well and please no chains!

Good staff, fun crowd, trivia night on tuesday. We had ribs which were good but not great, meaning charred and delicious. The BLT pizza wasn't too good but it was made for those that love it. Definitely a good restaurant.

Stopped in for the Sunday breakfast buffet. We were seated very quickly and told our server would be right with us, after 10 minutes and watching others have their order taken who were seated after us we were getting up to just help ourselves to the buffet and one of the owners came over and took our drink order. We proceeded to the buffet to get our food which was really good. Buffet food in general usually isn't the greatest as it sits in the steam pans for so long but I must say this food was very good. Overall the meal was hot and tasted good and the price was pretty fair. 3 adults for $46 which included drinks. Service could be a whole lot better. I was asked how things were once during our 50 minute meal.

Excellent fare and very good service. We recommend the prime steak philly style sandwich. It was excellent. The corned beef Rubin is better than the turkey Reuben.

I ordered their "just enough" from the breakfast menu. The sausage and hash browns were overcooked, and my raising bread toast too greasy. My daughter loved her pancakes and my husband his steak breakfast, so I guess they're hit or miss.

Good service, good food. Love the patio. Great to kick back at lunch for a beer and split a pizza. Servings are big, split if you can. Nice job, VI, you turned it up a notch and it shows.

We stopped there for a lunch on the patio. I had a Founders IPA and my fiancée had a vodka drink special. I had the chicken nachos and she had the caprese salad. The food was very good as was the service. The pricing was very reasonable. We will be back.

On a busy weekend lunchtime, we were greeted at the door (by whom I later found out was the owner) and told that we'd have to briefly wait to seat our party of 8 adults & 2 kids. He got us a table (and Crayons & placemats for coloring for the kids) in no time and sent over our server. She was friendly and helpful despite her being super busy. The food took a little while (they were really slammed) but everything was as we ordered and very tasty - nothing fancy; it is pub food after all. (My wife got the French Onion burger - so good!) The beer selection was solid, the Olympics were on the flat screens, and everyone was happy. How can you go wrong? I'll definitely stop in again on my way thru Suttons Bay! (I heard their weekend brunch is good too - I could see watching NFL Sunday Ticket there with a Bloody Mary or two). Cheers!

Good breakfast & an awesome, new outdoor patio makes this a strong alternative for brunch vs 45th Parallel Cafe. I give this a 4 star rating because of the outdoor patio and breakfast - 3 stars if you have to eat inside or eat lunch (which isn't great).

We live not too far away and love to come and eat here about once a month. It is a relaxed atmosphere, and kid friendly (which doesn't mean your kids can run all over the place....our children sit in their seats and are quiet and the staff are always very kind to them and chit chat with them). We love that Sunday, kids eat free! Also, every December, Santa arrives here on a fire truck and for FREE he visits with all the kids :) We have really enjoyed the whitefish sandwich and my husband loves their burgers and it is always cooked like he wants it. I do really like their enchiladas although lately it has been wanting for some spices, but it's still very good. Nachos are amazing. Great drink selection too, we always find a beer we like on tap or on the menu. We will always be back!

Very cool atmosphere. However, our waitress was terrible. We sat a good 20 minutes before finally another server cleared our plates. Another 10 minutes getting our bills and another 10 for her to pick them up! On top of that, she charged me for a drink I did not order. The other servers seemed to be on top of it though, so we must have gotten the bad one. Or perhaps she just had a bad night. The food was ok. I got cheese enchiladas that were said to be "award winning" on the menu. They were very blah to me. The others in my party seemed to enjoy their burgers.

Great restaurant in the area. We stopped on in since the last time we were in the area we seen a sign about prime rib. Sunday a little around 2 pm. Nice, we picked eating outside. I highly recommend if the day is nice out to do so. We all opted for burgers since we did not see anything about prime rib anymore. Burgers were great. Priced at about $9.00 and extras were about .75 - .25 cents depending on what you wanted extra on a classic burger or added to one of the ones on the menu. I ordered the black and blue.... if you have never tried blue cheese you may want to stay away from this otherwise its great. Kid friendly atmosphere, while we were dinning with our 13 and 16 year old there was a couple that strolled in with a baby in a sttoller. Plenty of room for it outside and a father and his little girls who looked to be about 4-7 years old came and sat down outside. Would have given them 5 stars if it hadn't been that they forgot the bacon on one of the burgers or that it took a while to get a refill on my water. Try them out I am sure they will not dissapoint you.

Not bad. Not fantastic. But good. Lunch on the porch as nice. Service was excellent, our waiter friendly and attentive. Food was average bar food. Not a lot of veggie options, but the vegetarian sandwich was decent. Good for kids. Adequate for vegetarians. Great for service. I'd go back to have a pint of local beer on the porch.

Average food and flies everywhere on the outside patio. My wife and I were constantly trying to swat little fruit flies out of our wine and food. My wife was eating with one hand and swatting with the other. The staff acknowledged it and was nice about it but didn't offer to reseat us. They tried to pass it off with humor which as ok but not the best solution.
